Cold brew coffee, sometimes known as cold pressed coffee or cold water extract is the process of extracting coffee using cold water. Cold brew tastes different from hot coffee, it’s been described as sweeter, with less bitterness, and smoother. Traditional coffee preparation uses water between 195 F and 205 F for the extraction. Cold brew uses water between 41 F and 86 F.

Cold brew has a different chemical composition from coffee prepared with hot water. Many of the compounds in the coffee bean are not soluble in cold water.
