First reported by Daily Coffee News, the U.S. Roaster Championship results are now final.  Finalists at the national competition had to grade beans, build a roast plan, roast the coffee, and serve it to a panel of five judges — all within a short period of time. Using scores from each stage of the process, 24 finalists were whittled down to the top 6 coffee roasters in the United States. The best part? Hugh Moretta, La Colombe Coffee Roasters

2nd Place:  La Colombe is a specialty coffee veteran known for its broad collection of roasts and experimental approach. Founded in the mid-90s as a single shop in Philadelphia, it is now a large chain of cafes and roasting plants with locations in Chicago, New York City, Washington D.C., etc.
