Arabica coffee is believed to be the first cultivated species of coffee. It accounts for 75–80% of the world’s coffee production, and it is the choice for brewing the coffee beverage. The caffeine content ranging from 0.9 to 1.7% of bean’s volume, but there are strains with even lower caffeine level.
Coffea arabica is said to produce better coffee than the other major commercially grown coffee species, Coffea Canephora, widely known as Robusta. However, tastes vary, and low quality of Arabica can taste worse than high quality Robusta.

I love to share my coffee brewing knowledge and my geeky coffee research. This blog is one of the places I write about coffee. More about Dorian…
